CAR WRAPPING FAQ

Find out more about car wraps by looking through our FAQs - if we've missed anything you can always give us a call

  • Q: Will vehicle wrapping damage the vehicle?

A: Applying specialist vehicle wrapping film to your vehicle will not damage your paintwork. However If you already have stone chips, abrasions or rust patches on your paintwork it's important to remember that when the vinyl is removed it may pull loose paint off with it. But did you know? The film actually shields the paint against chips, abrasions and weathering to preserve your cars future value.

  • Q: Who do I need to advise about my vehicle wrap?

A1: Insurance Company, It is important that you advise your insurance company that you have had your vehicle part/fully wrapped. This way should you be in the unfortunate position of having an accident or need to claim on your insurance company then they are aware of the costs and materials that will need to be replaced.

A2: DVLA, The DVLA should only be contacted should the car be a permanent colour change. As vehicle wraps are temporary there is no need to advise them of your wrap.

A3: Police, As part of the police's vehicle database, your car registration is linked to the make, model and colour of your vehicle. If the police do a registration number check they may stop you and ask questions regarding the colour. It is very easy to demonstrate that the vinyl is temporary and not the true colour.

  • Q: Can I choose to wrap just part of my vehicle?

A: Vehicle wrapping is most effective when the whole vehicle is covered in a complete design, but you can chose to wrap just part of the vehicle, such as the rear doors or side panels.

  • Q: Is the vehicle wrap easy to remove?

A: Yes. The vehicle wrapping film we use is applied with high quality adhesives and can be easily removed within 5 years of the wrap being installed.

  • Q: How do I wash the car once wrapped?

A: We recommend that you wash your car either by hand or using a jet wash. We advise against mechanical car washes, as the abrasive action can have a negative effect on the wrapping film. Always take care when using chemicals or detergents to clean your car.

  • Q: Do I get a warranty or guarantee?

A: Guarantees of up to five years are available on our colour change wraps, dependent on colour and finish required. Terms & Conditions apply.

  • CAR WRAPPING

Car Window Tinting is one of the best ways to improve the look, security and comfort of your vehicle. Our onsite technicians use the finest tinting films and a choice of shades from ultra-light through to limo black.

  • Q:Can I open my car windows straight away after installation?

A: We recommend that you allow 48 hours before opening windows. This is to allow the film to dry and gives the adhesive time to cure.

  • Q: Does the film affect the rear window defroster of my car?

A1: No, the film does not affect the element.

  • Q: Does the tint bubble up after time?

A:No, we use only use the highest quality films and fit them professionally. The adhesives are specially designed to withstand extreme temperatures. Bubbles appear from poorer quality film adhesives breaking down.

  • Q: Do you fit the film to the rear window of my car in one piece?

A: Yes, all rear hatch & saloon windows are fitted with one piece of tint, skillfully heat shrunk to shape.

  • Q: I've seen lots of tinted vehicles close up with creases and bubbles everywhere, will my windows look like that?

A: No, your windows will look perfect for as long as you own your vehicle.

  • Q: When I come to sell my vehicle, can the film be removed at all?

A: Yes, all of our films can be removed cleanly after many years.

  • Q: Do my vehicle windows have to be clean upon arrival?

A: No, not particularly. But, we do need to know if you think your vehicle has been tinted before, or you've tried to tint it yourself, possibly leaving transparent adhesive on the windows which then can incur additional costs to remove and clean ready for your new installation. Worst-case scenario, we would need to view your vehicle first to assess extra time & labour required.

  • Q: Now my vehicle is tinted, I've noticed a few scratches on the outside of the glass that I haven't noticed before, where have they come from?

A: On clear glass you wouldn't notice existing glass scratches. Window films reflect more light from the vehicle surroundings so if your windows are slightly marked, the films will show them up more.

  • Q: What can I keep my windows clean with?

A: Any glass cleaner as long as it doesn't contain ammonia.

  • Q: Can I tint my windscreen?

A: No, we do not fit films to any vehicle windscreens unless there is a medical exemption. Sun strips can be applied to the top of your windscreen as long as they do not obstruct your vision in any way. For the full list of regulations please check the VOSA websiteClick here

  • Q: Will window film help in preventing fading?

A: Yes. Window film blocks out ultra violet rays, visible light and heat. It virtually eliminates all fading. There are many different factors involved in fading. The main reason is ultra-violet rays. Other factors include visible light, heat, natural aging, interior lighting and more. Because of all these factors no one can technically guarantee "no fading." But a quality window film will stop 99% of ultra-violet rays and a large portion of visible light and heat depending upon which film you choose. But regardless, 99% of U.V. will be eliminated. But after tinting many homes, businesses and vehicles, we have had no complaints about fading of furnishings. Window film is the only way to accomplish this and still retain visibility through your windows.

  • Q: Will window film help with air conditioning bills?

A: Yes. Window film is the fastest payback of any building product you can put in a house or building, providing you have windows. Window film can cut out up to two thirds of the heat load of your air conditioner, thus cutting down on the run time, the amount of heat that has to be overcome, reduces utility bills and adds years to the life of your air conditioner.

  • Q: Will it affect my GPS?

A: No, your GPS will work as it did before installation.

  • Q: I've got a cheaper price from someone else.

A: That’s fine if you want a cheap job doing, but do you? We regularly get asked to rectify other peoples mistakes because the mobile tinter they used won't come back to them. All of a sudden a cheap job is no longer that cheap. We do GUARANTEED work with a warranty that we stick too!!!! We use top quality film fitted by approved installers who all work to the highest standard. In the tinting industry, the saying "you get what you pay for" is so true.... However, we are realistic and honest with our prices. Just because you drive an expensive car we don't charge extra, unnecessarily. Whether a Range Rover is 1 week or 10 years old the price is the same, the quality of the work is the same and the warranty is the same. Hopefully this will help you to feel confident in using us.
